Answers From Marmotel Campsite int he Vallée du Lot


What can we find in the chalets and mobilhomes ?
Each chalet and mobilhome includes: fridge, microwave, TV, electric fire, crockery, coffee maker, blankets, pillows, cleaning utensils : (broom, floorcloth).

What more can we bring ?
You can bring some household goods, washing-up liquid, face clothes, kitchen towels, toilet paper and sheets for the beds.

You can also rent bed sheets (rental € 15),and sale of disposable sheets (€ 5/one).

It is possible to hire a baby bed or a baby-chair ?
Baby bed (rental € 15 / week) and high chair (rental € 15 / week), Marmotel has it all planned for their fellow campers.

Do we have to clean up at the end of the stay ?
Yes, you have to leave the accommodation in perfectly clean condition or you can ask at the reception for the cleaning option charged € 70. Check-out : You must make an appointment at the reception for your check-out between 08 AM and 10 AM depending on schedule availability.


It is possible to choose the pitch ?

In July and August: your pitch is defined the day of your arrival according to the schedule and the changes. However, we will do our best to satisfy your wishes.

Shall we reserve our stay ?
You have to make a reservation for an accommodation rental.
We advise you to make a reservation for a pitch and more particularly in july and august.
If you don’t have a reservation, we will propose a pitch according to the availabilities. You need to make a reservation (even for one night).


How make use of the multisports ground ?
You have to make a reservation at the reception desk the previous day: the reservation is free of charge.
We ask for a deposit for sports equipment,football, basketball, volleyball, and others…
A bowls ground is also available.

What are the pool hours ?
The swimming pool is opened from 9am to 8pm, its access is free only for Marmotel residents.
Swimming costume is required.
Swimming in long shorts and T-shirts is NOT allowed.
The pool area is not watched but secured.
Parents should never leave their children alone.
The management reserves the right to exclude from the pool anyone having a dangerous behaviour.

What is the children activities club “Marmotins” ?
This activities club is free for 5 to 12 years old. It is not a nursery and parents have to enrol their child at the reception .

Activities last 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. Children put on a show during all the week and it for parents usually on Thursday evening.

What are the evening activities ?
They are activities for everyone. Karaoke, theme nights dancing, cinema, games groups. ..
The entertainement room is soundproof to cause no noise outside.

Where can we ask for general informations ?
Marmotel reception is opened from 9am to 10pm in high season. We will be delighted to advise you or inform you about the surroundings visits and activities.
On Sunday noon, we offer you a welcoming cocktail. Seize the opportunity to introduce yourself and get informations about Marmotel activities for the week and surroundings leisure.

Is there a river ?
Yes, there is “Le Lot” which goes along Marmotel for 400 meters. Fishing and swimming are possible. In July and August the river’s depth is about 60cms.
You can go canoeing, there is a nautical base upstream Saint-Geniez d’Olt.(500m from Camping Marmotel)

Are pets allowed ?
Only one pet is allowed on each pitch (1st and 2nd class are strictly forbidden).
However, pets must be kept on lead (muzzle for some of them) and have updated vaccination certificates.

What shall we do if an additional people wants to come on holidays with us ?
You are not allowed to exceed the authorized accommodation capacity (cf. booking terms).
Any additional people must be notified to the reception desk in order to pay the required fee.

What shall we do if friends come to visit ?
You have to notify their presence at the reception desk and pay the required visitor fee. Those people are under your responsability: if they are not registered, you could be expelled from Marmotel. Only residents have free access to Marmotel to preserve everyone’s peacefulness.

What shall I do if I have a delay ?
The reception is opened from 9am to 10pm in high season. If your arrival is out of these hours, you have to call us and inform us. We will be able to find the best solution to organize your arrival.

What shall I do if my departure is brought forward ?
Terms are the same for a rental stay and a campsite stay: • either you have an insurance cancellation and you have to get in touch with the insurance company to build up a reimbursement file, • or you don’t have any insurance so no refunds will be granted.

Where should I leave my rubbish ?
At Marmotel entrance and exit, you could find rubbish containers for selective sorting which is obligatory.

Is there a laundry ?
Yes, there is a laundry near the reception. Self-service 7/7
You can buy washing and drying tokens € 4€ (free washing powder).

Is the restaurant daily opened ?
Marmotel restaurant is opened every evening in July and August: you can have grilled meal, pizzas, salads, ice creams, dessert or pancakes.
You could find a large choice of meals (for adults and children) at reasonable prices.

Where can I park my car ?
If you camp, you can leave your car on your pitch or on the private car-park inside the Marmotel.
If you have a rental, you can leave your car in the central path along the accommodations, or in the car-parks near the chalets and mobilhomes.

Is Marmotel big?
Marmotel is a family business, makes up of 190 campsite pitches :

83 with common toilet & shower blocks
40 pitches with private sanitary blocks
67 chalets and mobilhome on hire

Our customers are essentially families with many children and teenagers in high season.

What are the methods of payment accepted by Marmotel ?
You can pay by credit card, holidays cheques, bank cheques or in cash.
You can also make down payments every month or pay the balance of your stay directly on line.

Where is the village of Saint-Geniez d’Olt ?
Saint-Geniez d’Olt is situated at the foot of Aubrac in the Haute Vallée du Lot and is rated “Station Verte de Vacances”. There is 2000 inhabitants and closed to 8000 in high season.

The village center of Saint-Geniez d’Olt is 500 meters far from Marmotel: you can walk there along the river. Embankments have been set up (10 minutes).

You will find the main shops : bakeries, butchers, press store, 2 pharmacies, many groceries, a supermarket (Intermarché), many coffee shops and restaurants, florists, souvenir shops, regional goods stores, a dry cleaners, a beauty salon, taxis, garages, furniture retailers, arts & crafts, clothes & shoes shops, household appliances shops, many estate agencies, architects, a health center, nurses’ agency, doctors…etc.

The Tourist Information Center and the Town Hall organize activities every day, you could find the programme on a notice board under the cloisters.

Saint-Geniez d’Olt is a very bustling village for the whole summer season, ask for the festivities programme to the Tourist Information Center as soon as you arrive.

You could find there every Saturday and Wednesday morning a market gathering many regional producers.

What can we visit in the surroundings ?
• La Vallée du Lot with the villages of Saint-Cômes d’Olt, Espalion, Estaing, Sainte-Eulalie d’Olt. • L’Aubrac : Les grands plateaux de l’Aubrac, Laguiole its cutleries and cheese, the wolves of Gévaudan, La Margeride. • Les Gorges du Tarn with l’Aven Armand, the national park of the Cévennes, le causse Méjean, le causse de Sauveterre and les Gorges de la Jonte, Montpellier le Vieux. • Le Larzac with the Grand Viaduc de Millau, the cellars of Roquefort, la Couvertoirade, Saint-Affrique, Sainte-Eulalie de Cernon. • La capitale Rodez situated at 45 kms and its cathedral. • Le Vallon de Marcillac and its wine. • Conques and its treasure, • …
